Naz Sohni Uppal recently earned the professional designation of Certified Travel Associate (CTA) from the Travel Institute based in Framingham, Massachusetts. A resident of Edmonton, Uppal joins over 25,000 other travel professionals in achieving this designation. To receive the CTA, Uppal completed over 200 hours of coursework and a two-hour exam. Uppal also had to have at least eighteen months of travel industry experience before earning the right to use the CTA designation. 

 

Chartered in 1964 to set standards of excellence within the travel industry, the Travel Institute is a national, non-profit organization offering educational programs for travel professionals at all career stages.

 Through her experiences and training, Naz has gained a clear understanding of the business of travel.

Naz has proficiency with computers, several radio and television production softwares, Microsoft Word, Power Point, internet skills, and web design.

 

Naz also excels in language, math, and technology. She loves travel and she loves meeting new people. She continues to learn and gain new experiences. Plus she has flown all over the world; taught English and Math abroad; practically lived on the train; and she has resided in many cities.

 

As you can imagine, politics, economics, geography, weather, cultural events, and a host of other factors continually affect the travel and tourism businesses. Having the experience as a reporter, Naz has elevated her understanding of all these factors. It has also allowed her to have an excellent reputation and an extensive network.

 

As a media personality, Naz has had a lot of success in the travel industry by representing stories of underrepresented and multicultural communities. She is so passionate about and genuinely interested in experiencing new cultures and their people and their communities. She uses music, culture, arts, stories, entertainment and films of distant countries, communities, and lands to put together very entertaining shows. She also had the opportunity to host radio programs using four distinct languages. And she has won many awards for her engaging work.

She is also interested in: West Edmonton Theme Room Bookings; VIA Rail Vacations; Singles Trips for Professionals; Cultural Adventure Trips; Disney Vacations; Entertainment Trips; High School Band Travels; Anniversary or Vow Renewal Trips; Group Tours; and Travel for Business Women.

 

Her major marketing idea is very niche. She hopes to create one personalized group tour every three months by creating a brochure for each tour; sending out a questionnaire to qualify interested people for the tour; creating a package and selling only 10-12 bookings; creating an unforgettable experience for those 10-12 people; and sending out  question list to each guest after the trip. Also, she hopes to record their experience so they have a wonderful memory.
