JULY 1 IS FULL OF CANADA DAY FUN!

Canada Day celebrations in Edmonton have become kind of a tradition. Why not join the traditions and celebrate with fun activities happening around the city. Many of the events during the day are family-friendly.

1. Celebrate "Oh Canada" at the Edmonton Valley Zoo, open 11am-4pm. Enjoy a scavenger hunt, live music and learn about all of our Canadian animal friends. It is also the birthday of the Edmonton Valley Zoo that day and there will be mini cupcakes available as well. Regular admission rates apply.

2. The City of Edmonton outdoor pools are offering free admission. What a fun way to celebrate with your little ones! Splash away the day at one of the City’s outdoor pools or water play sites.

3. The 28th Annual Canada Day Breakfast hosted by the Edmonton's Ismaili Community features free pancakes, watermelon, music, and fun and games. It is all happening at the Alberta Legislature South Grounds, 7am-10am, and admission is free!

4. Have your family stay out until late to watch the spectacular fireworks finale in the river valley. The Canada Day fireworks start at 11pm. A few of the optimal viewing locations include: the Alberta Legislature Grounds (Capital Plaza - by the Federal Building); Victoria Park (River Valley Road); Government House Park (Groat Road and River Valley Road; Ezio Faraone Park; and RE/MAX Field.
